A research has been carried
out to find about mobile usage in Sri Lanka. The research has been mainly focused
on the urban areas of Sri Lanka for my application is mainly pointed towards the
working people in the center to borders of the urban areas. Results show that most
of urban Sri Lankan population uses mobile phones. Percentage distribution of households
own telephone by sector in 2006 in Sri Lanka shown below.
From the table above it is clear
that in both urban and rural areas, considerable amount of population uses mobile
phones and the amount is expected to be growing in the future. The main target audience
of the mobile system is users of urban areas.
